I decided to apply to Blossom Academy at a time when I was eager to advance my career in agriculture, with data and AI being my main areas of interest. Initially, I applied to another institution, but my friend Vivian recommended Blossom Academy after hearing positive reviews from alumni. Since Blossom offered the same programs I was looking for, we both applied. Interestingly, Blossom responded to me much earlier than the other institution.
In the end, I chose Blossom because of the strong alumni reviews, its quick response time, and the clear alignment of its programs with my career goals.
CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR CAREER RESPONSIBILITIES?
I currently work as a Data and Digital Transformation Analyst with one of the telcos.
I perform data analysis and generate insights from user, customer, and community data to uncover trends, engagement patterns, and actionable insights for decision-making.
I also build dashboards and reports (Power BI, Excel, or Python-based) to track KPIs, platform growth, performance metrics, and operational efficiency. I tell data stories and present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions.
I help measure program outcomes, user growth, engagement, retention, and social/business impact through use cases. I solve problems and contribute ideas around innovation, digital growth, and the use of data to strengthen decision-making.
HOW DID BLOSSOM ACADEMY SUPPORT YOU IN PREPARING FOR YOUR CAREER?
Blossom Academy supported me by combining intensive technical training with job market tools like Power BI, Python, etc., hands-on project-based learning, mentorship, soft skills training, networking with businesses in the industry, and career support. I appreciate the employer partnerships for internships, which gave everyone practical exposure and industry experience.

I began my path with Blossom with no technical background at all. The doubt of “Do I fit into the tech world?” or the fear of “Can I make it through the code and tech tools?” was always on my mind. Hmm, I will tell Mary not to doubt or be scared; I was in the best hands. Blossom was made for people like me and more.
Every challenge I faced became the very foundation of my growth and mastery. And my cohort girlies would literally be the best girls to journey with.
WHICH INDUSTRY OR SECTOR IN AFRICA DO YOU BELIEVE HAS THE GREATEST UNTAPPED POTENTIAL FOR DATA & AI, AND WHY?
Agriculture, I must say.
And that is because I also know the power of technology to transform lives, especially in Africa’s agriculture sector. Imagine a young woman in a rural community using AI tools to predict rainfall, protect crops from pests, or connect her family’s farm directly to buyers. She’s not just coding; she’s feeding communities, driving economic growth, and rewriting the future of food security.
Agriculture is more than farming; it’s a canvas where data and AI can paint a future of abundance and help mitigate food insecurity.
